Search Function Help

About the Search Engine:
Our search engine preforms a general search and returns links to any pages that would display in stock items related to what you had entered into the search input field and the method you selected using the radio buttons. By "general" what is meant that it will look for title names and types of items that match your search criteria. It will not look for specific manufacturer codes or items by certain companies and the links outputted will be pages of one or more items, not to one specific item in particular. The reason for this is that some items have no real discernable manufacturer code listed, have multiple codes that could be used, codes overlap into other items, we deal with items from several companies and so forth. The search engine will at least help reduce the time needed to look around the site for what you want.

The Search "Methods":
Aside from what you type in there are two search methods available. "Any" would give you all the results for each word entered in the search that matches a title or item type name. "All" goes one step further by looking for active pages that relate to both one of the titles and items searched. So if you entered your search as Nuku trading with the "any" method you would get a list of all the pages of items relating to Nuku Nuku and all the different trading card pages. With the "all" method you would get just a link to the Nuku Nuku trading card page if available. It should also be noted that you can preform a search for just a title or just an item type using the "any" method but such a search does not work with the "all" method.

Please be aware that at the time this was written the above example was true but other item types and/or titles may have been added since then that could result in added results.

Tips for a Successful Search:
  • You should only enter in the names of titles and/or item types you are looking for.
  • The search engine preforms full word searches. That is if you enter only part of a name it would likely not turn up any results but if you entered the full name it may.
  • Any punctuations (i.e. "!@#,.) you type in should be part of the name of a title or item type. So you should not for instance put any part of your search between quotation marks, brackets or other such things.
  • Separate the names and words you type in with a space.
  • If you are looking for a certain type of item for a certain title you should enter the title and item names in and use the "all" method to give you the shortest list of results.
  • Try to only use portions of a title or item type that are exclusive to each. The word "card" would be one to avoid as it appears as part of several types of items and at least one title.
  • Please be aware that proper Japanese names can be interpreted in multiple ways when Romanized. Generally one is not more correct than another, it is just that the people that made the conversions interpreted the name in different ways.
  • If you want all the links relating to a certain title or item type just enter in the name and use the "any" method, the "all" method requires both at least a portion of a title and item type to be present in the search you enter.
  • We have entered popular creator's names or creator group names (i.e. Rumiko Takahashi, Masamune Shirow and CLAMP) as acceptable keywords for their titles so if you like all the titles by a specific artist or group you could try just entering their name.
