Here you can send in your input on what D.A.F.S. should get more of, what anime you're into, what other stuff you'd like to see added and anything else that might be on your mind. If you like you can request to get feedback on your suggestions so you can see what we have planed for the items you marked off.

It should be noted though that we don't plan on getting into hentai related items. Dealing directly with US and Canadian customs as much as we do makes handling such items very difficult. We also will not purchase copy items like SonMay CDs, laminated posters, recast garage kits, video CDs and most of the wall scrolls you'll see sold at different places which were made in China or Taiwan. For more info on copy items and how to tell the difference between a copy and the real thing check out the Real or Fake? page.

Check the box by the kind of stuff you'd be interested in getting if it was in stock.
Thank you for your help and support.

ItemInfo about Item
Posters These would be made by MOVIC, BANDAI or other such companies, typically printed on thick glossy paper and 20¼" x 28¾" (51.5cm x 73cm) or 16½" x 23¼" (42cm x 59cm) in size. There are also some which are printed on clear plastic sheets, on special paper and other such things.
Note:
We will not purchase the laminated copies made in China or Taiwan, only legitimate ones.
Wall Scrolls Wall scrolls are like really big posters but are printed on a piece of cloth rather than paper and there is a plastic rod on either end where one of them has a string on it which you can hang the wall scroll up by. Due to how they are made they tend to be a fair bit more than a poster would cost and are usually made by MOVIC.
Note:
We will not purchase the copies made in China or Taiwan that are available most places, only original ones.
Pins These are metal pins usually of about 2" in length that were painted and then covered in a thick enamel.
Jewelry These would be things like rings, pendants and other such things that are made to look like the rings, pendants and other such things worn by characters in various titles.
Idol/Lami Cards These are basically laminated trading cards made by companies like MOVIC.
Trading Cards These are like sports trading cards except they relate to anime. They would have different pictures on the front and some info, games and other things on the back (helps if you know Japanese though).
Phone Cards For use in pay phones in Japan these would have images from a given title on one side and are made by companies like MOVIC.
Postcards Sold in sets or singularly these postcards typically made by MOVIC are more interesting than the regular plain old ones we're used to in North America.
Pencil Boards/Shitajiki These are stiff plastic boards meant to be used to provide a smooth writing surface but also make excelant collectors items. Typically about 7¼" x 10" (18.2cm x 25.7cm) and with a different image on both sides but a few are longer or translucent with just one image. These are usually made by MOVIC.
Mouse Pads Mouse pads with an anime related image on it. Most are rectangular but some are in a shape that compliments the image and all are typically made by MOVIC.
Figures: Small Small figures are usually about 2" - 6" little plastic things made by companies like Tsukuda Hobby, SEGA and BANDAI..
Figures: Large These are figures around 6" to 15" in hight and from companies like Tsukuda Hobby, SEGA and BANDAI.
Key Chains These are typically like little figures around 2" to 3" in hight with a small chain and key ring on it. There are also those not of figures but items, logos, etc... from a title.
Clear Folders These are clear plastic file folders for standard 8½" x 11" sheets of paper but have images relating to an anime/manga title on it and are typically made by MOVIC.
Stickers Well... they're stickers. They have pictures of different characters and such from an anime with sheets and individual stickers coming in a wide assortment of sizes and types.
Seals These are stickers you can put on your video cassets and various other things like that but are specifically suited to a single anime series. These sheets can be quite large with many stickers each and would typically be made by MOVIC.
Calendars Most anime calendars are usually 17" x 24", held together by a metal strip at the top and are six pages (seven if you include the front page) long with two months per page but some may have extra pages. Each page has a large colourful picture on it that can then be put up as a poster after the months on that page are over. There are also other smaller ones that have one page per month and other various kinds.

Each year we make an order of Japanese calendars for anime and video game related titles. We also open up the pre-order list to other types such as J-Pop artists, Japanese female models, sports stars, international movie stars and others. The pre-order list is up around late Sept. and we accept pre-orders till the end of Oct. so you should make your order by mid Oct.

Garage Kits: Vinyl
Garage Kits: Resin
Do you want a perfect figure of your favourite character? Then garage kits are your best choice. There are two draw backs though... you have to put them together and paint them yourself, they are also pretty expensive. There are vinyl and resin garage kits both having a fantastic amount of detail. Vinyl is the soft plastic commonly used to make furniture coverings and is also used to make some of the dolls and figures available in North America. The resin kits are made of a hard plaster like material used to make surf boards. Resin kits can have more detail than vinyl ones but will also break more easily.
Note:
We will not purchase recast kits, only original ones.
Models These are plastic models of mecha and such things often made by BANDAI.
Jigsaw puzzles Jigsaw puzzles using images from an anime/manga title. These are often made by AMADA or MOVIC.
Magazines: Japanese Magazines printed in Japan and written in Japanese that relate to what's happening with anime or model/garage kits in Japan. They can also contain extra things like posters, small booklets, etc... These would be magazines like Hobby Japan, New Type, Model Graphix and Animage.
Magazines: North American These would include Animerica and Animerica Extra by Viz, Mixx Zine by Mixx and others. Such magazines would usually either cover what's going on in the world of anime or would be a manga anthology with a few different manga.
Anime Role Playing Games There are actually a few anime RPGs out there. There's the well known Robotech RPG and the very well known Battletech game (which uses mecha from different anime series and mecha that were inspired by anime mecha). There is also R. Talsorian Games, Inc. which made the Bubblegum Crisis RPG and other anime inspired RPGs. Then more recently there's Guardians Of Order with Big Eyes, Small Mouth, Sailor Moon and others.
Art Books These have pictures from the anime/manga, info and a vast array of other things a fan of that title would be interested in. Very few are produced in North America so most are from Japan and in Japanese with maybe some English. Although language isn't much of an issue for art books.
Guide Books These are more of an information books with things like character descriptions, episode synopsises, etc... which would typically be completely or mostly in Japanese, although there are some English ones out there. They will also have many images so those that can't read Japanese can get more out of them.
Notebooks They are like any other notebook but will have images from a title on the front and often on the back and inside as well. Although the ones on the inside will be light background images so you can see what you wrote over them and would be the same on every or every other page. A few will also have more than just lined pages with things like character or series info. These will either be bound like your average paperback book or use coils and are usually made by MOVIC.
Memo Pads and Paper Decorative paper to write notes or letters to friends on. Note pads can also be shaped in the form of characters or things from the title it relates to. Both are usually made by MOVIC.
Untranslated Manga Basically are the Japanese equivalent of comic books and are the ones available in Japan written in Japanese.
Translated Manga Basically are the Japanese equivalent of comic books. These were translated into English from Japanese by companies like Viz and Dark Horse.
Parody Manga (Doujinshi) Manga written and drawn by fan artists in Japan which relate to known titles. These will either be done so to give a different spin on an existing story for a certain title or a completely new story.
Note:
We will not get hentai doujinshi.
Anime Comics An anime put to paper. These will take screen grabs from the anime version of a title, add text such as word balloons and are usually in full colour. A few for very popular titles may be available in a translated form but most will be untranslated.

T-shirts: Medium
T-shirts: Large
T-shirts: X Large
T-shirts with pictures from different anime series on them (gee, like you couldn't have figured that out yourself). There's usually only adult (unisex) sizes available from medium to X large. To help us decide which size(s) we should key on please specify with the appropriate check box.
CDs CDs featuring the music from your favourite anime titles.
Note:
We will not purchase SonMay copies, only originals.
Stuffed toys Cute soft, little, fuzzy versions of anime characters you can play with or show off. These also include the (UFO) dolls you can win in the crane game also known as the UFO catcher game.

Videos: Subbed
Videos: Dubbed
Anime video cassettes translated to English in either subbed or dubbed format when released by North American distributers.

LDs: Domestic
Anime videos on laser discs rather than cassettes released by North American distributors and translated to English. One advantage of LDs is that they usually have subbed and dubbed versions on the same disc so you get both at the same time. While few companies made them before DVDs came along they have been essentially nonexistent after DVDs became a common medium to store videos on.

DVDs: Domestic
Anime videos on digital versatile discs rather than cassettes or laser discs. These are the size of a CD and are intended to replace video cassettes in the same way CDs have replaced audio cassettes. One nice thing about these is that just like domestic LDs you can get domestic DVDs with both subbed and dubbed versions on the same disc but unlike LDs these can be priced at about the same or the same price as a subtitled video cassette.
X Imported DVDs, LDs and Videos Due to strict regulations regarding videos (tapes, DVDs, LDs, etc...) where D.A.F.S. is operated we can not bring in imports.
X Video CDs Anime VCDs, especially English/Chinese subbed or dubbed ones are typically illegal copies made in China, Taiwan or somewhere similar, despite what the people selling them may tell you (they are not "straight from Japan"). These days companies in all countries put copyright protected videos on video tapes and/or DVDs, not VCDs. Their quality and length will be a good bit less than a proper DVD and offer little advantage over video tapes. We will not purchase such items. Check the Real or Fake? page for more info.
